Its been a long time that I did something worthwhile, something which you remember for a long time, something which you cherish, you enjoy, you had set yourself free, when you actually felt like yourself..
Life these days have become clockwork routine..Now I am thinking what should I do to feel good about myself..Its kind of funny that entire world says happiness lies in little things..Then why is it so difficult to find these "little" things and why are they then called "little" things..I have been wondering about these little things..I remember that me any my friends use to hang out all day long under lone college canteen tree sipping 3 Rs tea and eating samosas...Now if I want to do the same thing, either your friends are not interested in drinking tea from some road side shop or you dont find friends..Where has the "little" thing gone and why has it gone?
Sometimes I don't understand where has that "impulsiveness" gone? Where you just think of something and just did it? Now why have we started to think before we do even for little things? You wanted to visit some place 100 Kms away? You just pick your scooter and a friend and off you are on the highway with nothing but 200-300 rupees in your pocket? Now you have a car, few thousands rupees in pocket but still there seems to be 1001 reasons for not doing that "little" thing?
People give logic that earlier you had no responsibilities of earning livelihood and other crap..I say but at that time you had other responsibilities which were equally important at that time..But again and again I have failed to convince people on this argument..I think now a days its fashionable to think "big"...Life has stopped being a life..It has to be a "BIG" life...
But sometimes I do feel some hollowness inside me..Inspite of having a good job, steady income, there is something that is missing...Which would make me feel I am living...Maybe I need to get more impulsive, need to lower down guards...Maybe then the "little" things will weave their magic again...After all to enjoy "little" things, you dont need much!

Learning to live
Yesterday an Air India flight crashed in Magalore taking many lives. It was a sad day for all the families who lost their loved ones. And I know that no words could lessen the pain that they would be suffering. I pray to God to give strength to the grieving families and may the souls of deceased rest in peace.
However, this incident has left me thinking about my own life and futility of everything. Now, I believe in karma and making life worth living while you are here but in the end I find myself asking "So what"?
The question that I often find myself asking is how could I achieve a balance between my ambitions and the quality of life? Is really there is such thing called as balance or its just a figment of my imagination? I am all for earning money as it is required to give you food, leisure opportunities and many other things that are required to sustain life and in many cases even make you happy. But if I consider this argument, then why do we recall those moments the most where money is never in the picture but other things like friends, books etc. are involved?
I am still struggling to find the answer which would help me resolve this confusion. In the mean time if any one of the readers have got some clues, would be more than happy to listen!

Difficulty of being good
Just finished reading this book..The blog is not meant to give you guys a summary of the book..I am trying to put what I understood and learnt from this book..
The author, Gurucharan Das, has picked up a very well known story, the Mahabharata, and analyzed few key characters to bring out the difficulties that we mortals face every day as we live our lives..
1. You are the choices you make
2. Ends do not justify means NOR do means justify ends - Difference is subtle
3. World is made up of good and bad people - Be both to both types
4. Compassion is supreme - Put yourself in other people's shoes
5. "Why me" is not the right question to ask when in difficulties.
6. Dharma is subtle - What is right to you may not be right to other
