Internet these days is full of bloggers of different shades and hues, including me. But I was just wondering why do people blog or why do they blog on things they blog. Is blogging a serious hobby or it has become a place to vent out one's feeling about practically everything in this universe.
I am blogging on blogging. Just a few days ago, someone forwarded me a link of a blog in which the author was claiming that"Munni badnam hui" song from movie "Dabaang" is not the only sleazy song in Hindi film industry and then went on to give arguments and also list of historical sleazy songs! Couldn't have imagined someone actually giving a serious try to remind people of our history of sleazy songs! Google has a search engine for blogs but its very rarely that one actually stumbles upon a good blog which is worth reading.
I think blogging is becoming more like media these days where channels like Aaj Tak even show Raju Srivastava's stupid acting as breaking news! And to top it all, top bloggers (by most traffic attracted) convert their blogs into books and sell it at Rs. 150 for urban readers. I happened to pick up this book called as "May I have your attention please". Actual title, the way it is printed on the book, shows the desperate attempt to attract readers to an otherwise useless and rubbish book. I mean Internet was not enough to spread useless literature so you publish a book out of it!
I want to read real, imaginative and fresh blogs which would warrant me at-least 5 minutes of attention time. Not some old, creepy, good-at-criticizing blogs.
Till then, I think will rather visit book stalls.

Trying to be happy amongst all
Yet another day has passed by..Someone very wisely said that take care of days and years will take care of themselves. The only issue is how to take care of the days.
Some days you would wake up happy, energetic, ready to take on the world and some days you will feel like entire cosmos is conspiring against you..I have been living those days for the majority of my time now. Now deep down inside, I am optimistic but sometimes these things, which I cannot control, get too much for me. I know I can control my response but sometimes I so desperately want to let go every control and be the person I want to be..But that really never happens.
These days my mantra is a day spent okiesh is a day great spend. Absence of unwanted situations is the biggest reward. Like they say that no news is good news...And on top of that I want to be happy..Tough choices for me...

In pursuit of truth and happyness
And please dont think that I have spelled happiness the wrong way. Even if I wanted to, the Word editor usually points out the mistakes. Its just that after seeing Will Smith in the movie, I like to spell happiness like happyness.
Truth and happiness are two things which I am after these days. I am trying to lreach the balance where I get both of them without sacrificing another. COntemplating has led me no where now for two months. It was supposed to be a project visit but now it has turned out to be the biggest dilemma for me.
Sometimes the obvious is not so obvious and these days even the choices have become difficult to make. Playing several roles at the same time and have to do justice to each role is proving too much. Soul and happiness are consituted as summation of different parts to bring out the whole. There is no absolute happiness in existence but just different parts/lives/moments coming together to form your happiness circle. Now most people would find it easy to maximize one part and still keep the circle intact. But I am finding that difficult to do.
It is getting increasing difficult to decide what is the right path and what is the correct action? Is it ok to give some pain to one to give happiness to other? Is it ok to be selfish about yourself? How to live life - one moment at a time OR looking at the horizon? And inspite of choosing the way to live, what to do in those moments - think about yourself or give happiness to others? I mean it has always been a balancing act for me and I appreciate those people for whom life has been kinder in giving the options to choose from.
I am really in need of some help in deciding waht to do. Divine intervention would also help but till then I think its me alone who has to think and decide.

Life's "Little" Things
Its been a long time that I did something worthwhile, something which you remember for a long time, something which you cherish, you enjoy, you had set yourself free, when you actually felt like yourself..
Life these days have become clockwork routine..Now I am thinking what should I do to feel good about myself..Its kind of funny that entire world says happiness lies in little things..Then why is it so difficult to find these "little" things and why are they then called "little" things..I have been wondering about these little things..I remember that me any my friends use to hang out all day long under lone college canteen tree sipping 3 Rs tea and eating samosas...Now if I want to do the same thing, either your friends are not interested in drinking tea from some road side shop or you dont find friends..Where has the "little" thing gone and why has it gone?
Sometimes I don't understand where has that "impulsiveness" gone? Where you just think of something and just did it? Now why have we started to think before we do even for little things? You wanted to visit some place 100 Kms away? You just pick your scooter and a friend and off you are on the highway with nothing but 200-300 rupees in your pocket? Now you have a car, few thousands rupees in pocket but still there seems to be 1001 reasons for not doing that "little" thing?
People give logic that earlier you had no responsibilities of earning livelihood and other crap..I say but at that time you had other responsibilities which were equally important at that time..But again and again I have failed to convince people on this argument..I think now a days its fashionable to think "big"...Life has stopped being a life..It has to be a "BIG" life...
But sometimes I do feel some hollowness inside me..Inspite of having a good job, steady income, there is something that is missing...Which would make me feel I am living...Maybe I need to get more impulsive, need to lower down guards...Maybe then the "little" things will weave their magic again...After all to enjoy "little" things, you dont need much!

Learning to live
Yesterday an Air India flight crashed in Magalore taking many lives. It was a sad day for all the families who lost their loved ones. And I know that no words could lessen the pain that they would be suffering. I pray to God to give strength to the grieving families and may the souls of deceased rest in peace.
However, this incident has left me thinking about my own life and futility of everything. Now, I believe in karma and making life worth living while you are here but in the end I find myself asking "So what"?
The question that I often find myself asking is how could I achieve a balance between my ambitions and the quality of life? Is really there is such thing called as balance or its just a figment of my imagination? I am all for earning money as it is required to give you food, leisure opportunities and many other things that are required to sustain life and in many cases even make you happy. But if I consider this argument, then why do we recall those moments the most where money is never in the picture but other things like friends, books etc. are involved?
I am still struggling to find the answer which would help me resolve this confusion. In the mean time if any one of the readers have got some clues, would be more than happy to listen!

Difficulty of being good
Just finished reading this book..The blog is not meant to give you guys a summary of the book..I am trying to put what I understood and learnt from this book..
The author, Gurucharan Das, has picked up a very well known story, the Mahabharata, and analyzed few key characters to bring out the difficulties that we mortals face every day as we live our lives..
1. You are the choices you make
2. Ends do not justify means NOR do means justify ends - Difference is subtle
3. World is made up of good and bad people - Be both to both types
4. Compassion is supreme - Put yourself in other people's shoes
5. "Why me" is not the right question to ask when in difficulties.
6. Dharma is subtle - What is right to you may not be right to other
